Iossifov Lab

The research interests of the Iossifov Lab are in the areas of genomics and systems biology and their application in the study of the etiologies of neuropsychiatric disorders like autism, schizophrenia, and cancer. At the NYGC, Dr. Iossifov’s research focuses on large autism sequencing projects. He is facilitating collaborations with groups both within the NYGC and outside the NYGC that study other common human diseases.

Ivan Iossifov, PhD

Ivan Iossifov, PhD, is a Core Faculty Member at the New York Genome Center (NYGC), with a joint appointment as Associate Professor at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. His research interests are in the areas of genomics and systems biology and their application in the study of the etiologies of neuropsychiatric disorders like autism, schizophrenia and cancer. At the NYGC, Dr. Iossifov’s research focuses on large autism sequencing projects. He is facilitating collaborations with groups both within the NYGC and outside the NYGC that study other common human diseases. Dr. Iossifov obtained an MS degree in Computer Science from Sofia University in Bulgaria and a PhD in Biomedical Informatics from Columbia University.
