Lisa Escudero Joins the New York Genome Center as Vice President, Human Resources

The New York Genome Center (NYGC) welcomes Lisa Escudero as the new Vice President, Human Resources.

Ms. Escudero has over 20 years of experience in leading all aspects of Human Resources. For the past eight years she led Human Resources for American Standard Brands, a $1B revenue corporation with 5,500 employees. As a member of the leadership team, she served as a strategic business partner to the CEO and peer leadership team members and guided them in understanding the human resources implications of their business decisions.

Her areas of expertise include talent and performance management, leadership development, employee relations, compensation and succession planning, organizational design and change management.

“Lisa Escudero is a welcome addition to our Senior Leadership team here at the New York Genome Center,” said Dr. Robert Darnell, Founding Director and CEO. “She is a highly-experienced and talented individual and will be a great asset for moving our organization forward in its successes.”

“I began my career as a research scientist in biology and am delighted to join the NYGC team and return to my roots in the science industry,” said Ms. Escudero. “I look forward to working with each department to assist them in their business, management and organizational goals.”

Prior to joining American Standard Brands, Ms. Escudero was Director of Human Resources for Merck & Co for 18 years where she supported client areas within the research and manufacturing areas. She began her career as a research scientist for FMC Corporation’s Agricultural Chemical Group where she spent nine years as a biologist.

Ms. Escudero holds a B.A. from Rutgers University and an M.S. in Human Resources Management from Rutgers University School of Management & Labor Relations.
