Hemali Phatnani, PhD, Director of the Center for Genomics of Neurodegenerative Disease at the New York Genome Center, is a passionate proponent — and practitioner — of collaborative genomics research.

Dr. Phatnani recently discussed the role of genomics in ALS research with collaborative partner Target ALS and her Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) Neurodegeneration Challenge Network project with NYU’s Liam Holt, PhD, to advance understanding of protein aggregation, which is associated with ALS, Alzheimer’s disease, and frontotemporal dementia, with Technology Networks.
