Very Rare Cancer Consortium Disease Spotlight & Research Roundtable
Please join us for the Very Rare Cancer Consortium Tumor Board Meeting. This new initiative aims to bring cancer researchers across New York to the table to discuss compelling rare cancer cases presented by physicians and scientists from the New York Genome Center’s partner institutions. AMPULLARY & DUODENAL CANCER
Disease Spotlight & Research Roundtable
This will be a VIRTUAL meeting via Zoom.
Please note registration is required.
Ampullary and duodenal cancers are rare malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract, for which current treatment paradigms remain borrowed from nearby and/or related malignancies of the pancreas and colon, respectively. Clinical outcomes from ampullary and duodenal cancers, however, are distinct, reflecting genomic drivers that are unique to these cancer types. Survival from these malignancies are quite poor, highlighting the need for preclinical model development and translational studies that define specific molecular vulnerabilities to nominate effective clinical interventions.
During this VRCC Roundtable, we will hear from a panel of experts to articulate our current understanding of these rare tumor types, recent advances in clinical treatment and genomic characterization, and collaborative opportunities to advance the field further.
