Early Career Development Program
Can I join the NYGC Early Career Development (Post-Baccalaureate) program for less than two years?
Participants are expected to participate for the full duration of the program (two years).
Will the salary and benefits differ depending on which NYGC lab I am placed with?
Your salary and benefits will be the same no matter which lab you are placed with.
Does participation in the program guarantee a regular full-time position with the NYGC at the end of the program?
Participating in the program does not guarantee a regular full-time position at the end of the program. However, you’ll have the opportunity to be considered for any position that you’re interested in if it is available and if you’re a good fit for the position.
Does the program offer graduate courses?
The program does not offer graduate courses and program participants are not required to take graduate courses. Your primary responsibility will be to your NYGC’s full-time position. However, if you wish to take graduate-level coursework at other institutions, you may do so. NYGC provides up to $7,500 (up to $5,250 pre-tax) per year in tuition reimbursement for eligible degree programs. Non-degree programs and courses may also be considered.
Is housing provided for program participants?
While housing is not provided, we will connect program participants with external organizations that can help participants find housing if needed.
